Even though this picture kinda looks like it might be fall, or maybe spring, it’s actually the middle of winter. Even though there’s no snow, the temperatures have dropped and it’s really really cold right now, which means wearing a gazillion layers and being so bundled up that you can barely turn your head.
The current colourless season and the brutal temperatures have made it a little difficult to play around with my new camera gear. Hopefully the coming week will bring some less-cold days and more chances for photo-fun.
This is the camera I’ve been using for the past two years. I picked a newer (to me) one up yesterday from a photography student on Craigslist.
Another shot from Saturday’s rally. I was getting pretty hungry at that point too…
Perspective paintings around York that somehow made it through the winter break.
I’ve become a big fan of the local band Oh No Forest Fires over the past few months, and on Saturday evening they played their last show. Their friends the Darcys, Songs from a Room, and Arietta joined them at the Horseshoe Tavern for one last hurrah. The worst part of the entire experience is that they released a fantastic new album on the day of their last show.
Also… uh, this picture isn’t actually of Oh No Forest Fires, but of the singer from Arietta. I liked how it turned out.
Due to some subway problems after dinner on Saturday, Candice and I ended up on an empty subway car for a while, which means fun with photos on the TTC!
Candice and I braved the January cold (okay, so it was like two degrees) to take part in the No To Prorogue, Yes To Democracy demonstration in downtown Toronto yesterday. Around 10,000 people showed up and marched through the downtown core, creating a people-snake some say was over 1 kilometer long.
Also! I found out I can embed slideshows from Flickr. Which means you can flick through photos from the No To Prorogue rally below.
Candice gave me a new version of Carcasonne for Christmas and we played it last night. Clearly an eventful Friday night.
Photo365 2010!
RULESÂ Guidelines: Every effort will be taken to take a photo each day, and post it the following day. HOWEVER, if a decent photo doesn’t come out that day, and all I’m left with is taking a picture of almonds (a horrible picture at that) then I’m allowed to post a picture that was taken before, but not one that was included in Photo365 2009.
Okay?
And what better way to start a new project than with a picture of Candice, bundled up and gorgeous?
This year will be awesome. I hope to catch some of that on film (er… okay, probably not film. Maybe I little on film, if I get around to it, but more than likely it will be captured on tiny little memory cards).
