Rubber band ball!
The City of Toronto seems to think it’s Christmas.
Hmm.
I don’t have a problem with Christmas starting so early. Christmas feelings are awesome, and it would be really really cool to have more Christmas time. The bad part about having so much Christmas is that it isn’t actually Christmas, so you still have to go to school/work and put up with other non-Christmas events.
Toronto launched it’s annual Cavalcade of Lights celebrations of Saturday night, kicking off the holiday season. The evening started off with the lighting of their huge Christmas tree, a musical performance by Steven Page (!!), some other (less than Steven Page) musical performances, and an amazing fireworks display. Fireworks are so bad for the environment, but holy crap it was incredible (setting some of the fireworks to Thriller certainly helped).
Yep, just lettin’ you know that we’re awesome.
This was taken past Candice’s bedtime. Hence the sleepy eyes.
As it gets later in the year, more pictures get taken in the dark.

I was asked to photograph the York University Tamil Student Association’s Maveerar Naal ceremonies, which is basically a Tamil Remembrance Day. There was dancing, music, and speakers, and a lot of people showed up. All of my shots from the event are on my Flickr page.
The past few days have been fairly busy, so I’ve been falling behind on daily picture updates. I’ve also found myself (once or twice) having to find something to take a picture of at around 11pm, since I hadn’t taken anything else. Which is how today’s shot happened.
Police horses creep me out a little. Especially around large groups of people. I mean, they look so nice, but… I bet they could be vicious.
One of our favourite holidays is Thanksgiving: friends and food. So why not have it twice? On Friday we invited a whole pile of people over, cooked a turkey and some vegetables, and had a great time. It was nice to have so many people in our apartment.
It’s been foggy for ages. It’s a little comforting.
