Someone stole my lunch spot in the participark, meaning I had to go find another bench to eat on. This guy was als0 having his lunch.
Stealing internet from outside a coffee shop in St. John’s in order to post this. Sketchy business.

The mysterious creature from the Forestry Center!
… yeah, I have no idea. It’s probably an art project.

Candice and I made a trip up to Rocky Harbour and Western Brook on Sunday. Here, Candice dances in the waves on the beach where Western Brook meets the ocean.

There’s a fantastic sense of accomplishment that comes along with building a successful campfire.
A couple year ago I worked at (the now defunct) Humber Valley Resort. There was an older man who worked there named Ron who would be in charge of building the massive beachfire each Saturday. He had an awesome technique which allowed him to build the fire, light it, and then not have to touch it or tend to it for the rest of the evening, it would keep going. They called it a Ronfire.
I adapted his techniques for smaller campfires.

Just a quick visit from a very lazy toad we found when shooting those star pictures yesterday. He was very cooperative and stood very still while I took his glamour shots. I asked if he wanted some coverup for some of those odd skin markings, but he was quite proud of them and wanted to show them off. Good for you, Mr. Toad.

When I first looked at this under normal exposure, it was less than fun. Actually, it was mostly just a couple of dots for stars, and you could kinda tell that Candice was there. Sorta.
Anyway, I blew it out on my computer, which makes it incredibly grainy, but the extra details are awesome. Behind Candice you can see the freakin’ edge of the galaxy. I was pretty “stoked”.

Sitting outside at lunchtime, enjoying a sunny day, listening to great podcasts, looking for interesting photographs, admiring architecture, taking pictures of said architecture.
This is part of the Library building at Grenfell. I love this photo. I love this school.

Cars zip by on the Trans Canada Highway between Humber Valley Resort and Pasadena last night.
I also took this cool picture of the Big Dipper:
