They call this dungeon the ‘library’. This particular chamber is where they hide the photocopier. You have to fight past the evil ogre who hides behind the reference desk to get there.
Note that this is just the basement of the “science” library. It does have a ground-level area, but it still isn’t very nice. The arts library on the other hand is beautiful.

It’s starting to warm up, the grass is starting to turn green, and the geese are coming back!
When we first moved to York there were huge flocks of geese everywhere, but as the weather turned cold they went away for a holiday. It seems their holiday is coming to an end, as the geese are slowly starting to return to the campus.

During Earth Hour, Candice and I went for a walk around campus (which was disappointingly lit up like a Christmas tree, as usual) and then had a game of Fluxx by candlelight when we got home.

Next to our apartment building is a complex of apartment buildings called Passy Gardens. We took a short walk through there last night while enjoying the nice night around campus.

The rain continued off and on for most of the day. Ontario’s budget came out, but that didn’t exactly lighten anyone’s mood.
However, Newfoundland’s budget also came out, and man am I ever proud of the students of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Alright, let’s move away from pictures of me for now.
It was a rainy evening at York University last night. It was kind-of warmish though. It smelled like it does after a warm summer rain.
I went to a great talk just before I took this photo from a guy who chases solar eclipses. One of the things he talked about was that in 2017 a solar eclipse will pass over the US and parts of southern Canada. However I was quick to notice that in 2024 one will pass right through Newfoundland! Anyone want to get together for a barbeque and a solar eclipse on April 8, 2024?

Aaaaand it’s another self-portrait!
A post-Tuesday-night-class in-elevator tired-and-hungry impromptu-with-cell-phone-camera self-portrait.

Unless you hang out at my house all the time or you’re in one of my classes, you’ve probably never seen me in glasses and somewhat asleep. Now you have.

In walking around our apartment building last night, looking for something to shoot, all I could find was this fire hydrant. I was hoping for grouse to have for supper tonight but no luck.
(Get it? Something to shoot? Grouse? …yeesh)
I also made cookies last night using my sister Katheryn’s fantastic recipe. While kind of sad in a way, it’s mostly awesome that I have an entire batch of cookies to myself and don’t have to worry about someone else eating them all. I might be able to get into this baking thing… it’s pretty easy. Maybe I can find a wicked gluten free cookie recipe for some wheat-free cookie funtimes.
