Planet Village

I turned our neighborhood into a planet! Oh no!

This was awesome fun to make, and it turned out pretty good. Looking forward to making some more of these… and maybe they’ll turn into prints.

Intersection Flare

Even though the cold is crippling, it’s been sunny for a few days. I think I might prefer warmer temperatures to sun though.

Steam

Candice and I have started a new project where we pick out a recipe or two each week from our new cookbook and cook it together, and we’ll post about it on tomandcandice.com. We started last night with a lentil dish.

This also gives me an opportunity to try out food photography. In short, it’s difficult to make food look tasty.

"She's blocked."

The York Federation of Students brought Angela Davis to York for a lecture yesterday. The lecture was fantastic, and we brought out a lot of people… like, so many we had to turn over two hundred away, even with one 500 seat lecture theatre and another 300 seat overflow room with a video feed. People got angry. Such is York.

Vari

The design of Vari Hall at York allows for some interesting lighting. I keep wondering if its supposed to be used like a sundial.

Benched

Even though this picture kinda looks like it might be fall, or maybe spring, it’s actually the middle of winter. Even though there’s no snow, the temperatures have dropped and it’s really really cold right now, which means wearing a gazillion layers and being so bundled up that you can barely turn your head.

The current colourless season and the brutal temperatures have made it a little difficult to play around with my new camera gear. Hopefully the coming week will bring some less-cold days and more chances for photo-fun.
